For the Batter:

Tapioca Flour 2 tablespoons
Water 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vermicelli: Soak the corn vermicelli in hot water until soft, then cut into small pieces.
  2. Mix the Base: In a large bowl, combine the mashed tofu, grated carrots, soaked vermicelli, salt, ground pepper, Masako, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly and taste for seasoning.
  3. Add Eggs: Incorporate the eggs into the mixture, stirring until well combined.
  4. Steam the Mixture: Prepare a steamer. Grease cake molds lightly, then fill them with the tofu mixture, pressing down gently to compact. Steam for about 15 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before removing from molds.
  5. Prepare the Batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together the batter ingredients until smooth.
  6. Fry the Tahu Fantasi: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the steamed tofu cakes into the batter and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
