Martabak Tahu Campur Telur (Tofu and Egg Spring Rolls)

Ingredients

  • 10 sheets of spring roll wrappers
  • 5 pieces of tofu
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 stalks of green onions
  • 5 stalks of chives
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:

    • Begin by mashing the tofu until it achieves a smooth consistency.
    • Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them thoroughly. Combine the eggs with the mashed tofu.
    • Finely chop the green onions, chives, and garlic, then add them to the tofu and egg mixture.
    • Season the mixture with ground pepper and seasoning powder, stirring until all the ingredients are well integrated.
  2. Assemble the Spring Rolls:

    • Lay one sheet of spring roll wrapper flat on a clean surface.
    • Spoon a portion of the tofu and egg mixture onto the center of the wrapper.
    • Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and then roll it up tightly, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Fry the Spring Rolls:

    • Heat enough cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
    • Carefully place the spring rolls into the hot oil, cooking them until they turn a golden brown color. This should take about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on the heat level.
    • Once cooked, remove the spring rolls from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
