Tahu Fantasi Recipe

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by crushing the tofu and squeezing out excess moisture. This step ensures a firmer texture in the final dish.

  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed tofu, shredded carrot, soaked rice vermicelli, eggs, garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, Masako seasoning, and chopped celery leaves. Stir thoroughly and adjust the seasoning to taste.

  3. Prepare the Steamer: Grease a mold or steamer with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

  4. Steam the Mixture: Transfer the mixed tofu blend into the prepared mold. Steam for approximately 20 minutes, or until the mixture is set. Once done, remove from the steamer and allow it to cool.

  5. Slice the Tofu: After cooling, carefully remove the tofu from the mold. You can slice it into desired shapes, either directly or within the mold for uniformity.

  6. Dipping and Frying: Beat the two eggs in a bowl for dipping. Dip each tofu piece into the beaten egg, coating it evenly.

  7. Fry: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated tofu pieces until they turn golden brown. Once cooked, remove and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  8. Serve: Enjoy your Tahu Fantasi warm, garnished with additional celery leaves if desired. This dish pairs beautifully with a dipping sauce or fresh salad.
