Crispy Tahu Fritters
Ingredients:

- 2 blocks of firm tofu, crumbled with a fork
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 stalk green onion, finely chopped
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 1 large cabbage leaf, roughly chopped
- 3 tablespoons Bakwan Flour (Sasa brand)
- 2 tablespoons water
- Chicken seasoning (to taste)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Tofu Mixture: In a mixing bowl, crumble the tofu using a fork. Add the beaten egg, finely chopped green onion, celery, and cabbage leaf. Sprinkle in the Bakwan Flour and season with chicken seasoning. Mix everything together until well combined. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If the mixture is too thick, gradually add water until you reach a thick, but spoonable consistency.
-
Heat the Oil: Place a frying pan or deep skillet on the stove and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil over medium heat until it is hot and shimmering.
-
Fry the Fritters: Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of the tofu mixture into the hot oil. Fry the fritters in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. This should take about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove the fritters from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
-
Serve: Enjoy your crispy tahu fritters hot and fresh. This recipe yields about 8 fritters.
