Tahu Telur with Mint Leaves
Ingredients:
- 1 small tofu, mashed with a fork
- 1 egg
- A handful of mint leaves, roughly chopped
- 1 chili pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon mushroom seasoning (optional)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
-
Prepare Ingredients: Begin by mashing the tofu with a fork until it reaches a smooth consistency. In a bowl, crack the egg and beat it lightly before combining it with the mashed tofu.
-
Mix and Season: Add the roughly chopped mint leaves, thinly sliced chili pepper, minced garlic, and finely chopped onion to the tofu and egg mixture. Season with ground pepper, salt, and mushroom seasoning if using. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
-
Heat Oil: In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking before adding the tofu mixture.
-
Cook Tahu Telur: Gently pour the tofu mixture into the skillet. Cook until the edges start to form a crust, then carefully flip to cook the other side. Keep the heat on low to ensure the dish cooks through evenly.
-
Serve: Once both sides are golden brown and crispy, remove the tofu from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy!
Tip: For best results, use a medium-low flame to cook the Tahu Telur thoroughly and evenly.
