Prekedel Tahu (Tofu Fritters)

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tahu kuning (tofu) 5 pieces, washed and drained
Carrot 1, peeled and grated
Eggs 2, beaten
Bird’s eye chili 5, sliced
Shallots 4, finely sliced
Garlic 1 clove, minced
Cooking oil As needed
Salt To taste
Sugar To taste
Pepper To taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, crumble the tofu until it resembles fine crumbs. Add the grated carrot, sliced chili, shallots, minced garlic, salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, and the beaten eggs. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

  2. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat. Using a spoon, scoop the tofu mixture and gently fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat until all the mixture is cooked.

  3. Once cooked, remove the fritters from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
