Tahu Telur with Carrot Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10 pieces of white tofu, mashed
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mixture:
    In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed tofu, grated carrot, sliced scallion, sugar, salt, ground black pepper, and 1 egg. Stir the ingredients together until well mixed.

  2. Steam the Tofu Mixture:
    Prepare your steamer and grease a steaming tray or dish with margarine to prevent sticking. Pour the tofu mixture into the greased tray. Steam the tofu mixture over boiling water for about 20 minutes.

  3. Cool and Chill:
    After steaming, remove the tray from the steamer and allow the tofu mixture to cool. Once cooled, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes.

  4. Cut and Coat:
    Remove the chilled tofu mixture from the refrigerator. Cut it into pieces of your desired size. In a separate bowl, beat the remaining egg. Dip each piece of tofu into the beaten egg.

  5. Fry:
    Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated tofu pieces until golden and crispy on all sides.

  6. Serve:
    Once fried, drain the excess oil on paper towels and serve your Tahu Telur with Carrot hot. Enjoy!
