Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line the bottom of an 8″ springform pan with parchment paper.

  2. Grand Marnier Layer:

    • In a double boiler, melt the chocolate with the Grand Marnier.
    • In a small pan, bring the cream just to a boil.
    • Slowly incorporate the hot cream into the melted chocolate using a whisk.
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and chill until set.
  3. Kahlua Layer:

    • In a double boiler, melt the milk chocolate with the butter and Kahlua.
    • Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then whisk in the egg yolk.
    • Pour the cooled mixture over the set Grand Marnier layer.
    • Chill until set.
  4. Whiskey Layer:

    • In a double boiler, melt the chocolates and butter.
    • Whisk in the whiskey and cream until fully incorporated.
    • Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then pour it over the set Kahlua layer.
  5. Freeze Overnight: Cover the cake with plastic wrap and freeze overnight until hardened.

  6. Serve: Before serving, dress each plate with a “pool” of Mint Creme Anglaise. Unmold the cake and serve each slice on a dressed plate.
