Naughty, in the BEST possible way!!!! π I usually like to let all cake batters rest for 10 minutes (in the baking pans) before they go into the oven–I find that they rise up nicer.
Ingredients:

1/2 tsp | Salt |
1/2 – 1 tsp | Baking soda |
1 | Egg |
1 cup | Buttermilk |
2/3 cup | Coffee, hot |
1 cup | Butter, melted |
1 cup | Milk |
6 tbsp | Sugar, for frosting |
1/2 cup | Peanuts, chopped |
1 cup | Chocolate chips |
3/4 cup | Cocoa powder |
1 1/2 cups | Caramel sauce |
Instructions:

CAKE:
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Grease and flour 3 9″ round cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, and buttermilk until well combined.
- Slowly pour in the hot coffee, mixing as you pour, until fully incorporated into the batter.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then loosen the edges and invert onto waxed or parchment paper-lined wire racks.
- Cool completely before frosting.

- In a saucepan, combine sugar and milk.
- Add the butter and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, whisking until melted and smooth.
- If the frosting seems too thick or grainy, you can thin it out by adding 1-2 teaspoons of hot coffee.

- Place one cake layer on a serving platter, rounded side up.
- Spread 1/3 of the frosting evenly over the layer, going right to the edges.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts over the frosting.
- Drizzle 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the peanuts.
- Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the processβfrosting, peanuts, caramel.
- Top with the final cake layer and cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
- Decorate with more chopped peanuts and a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.
