Instructions:

Prepare the Crust:
- Combine chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter, mixing well.
- Firmly press the mixture into the bottom and 1 inch up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan.

- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the sugar, mixing well after each addition.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the kirsch until blended.

- Pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 200°F (95°C) and continue baking for 1 hour.
