Pecan Pie With Chocolate Mousse 🥧🍫

Ingredients:

1 Unbaked pie shell
3 cups Pecans
3 Eggs

For Chocolate Mousse:

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pecan Pie:

    • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
    • Spread the mixture on the bottom of the unbaked pie shell in a pie pan.
    • Press pecans into the cream cheese mixture.
    • In another bowl, beat eggs, light corn syrup, remaining sugar, and remaining vanilla extract until well mixed.
    • Pour the egg mixture into the pie shell.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 30-35 minutes, until the crust is browned and the top is puffy and golden.
    • Allow to cool, then chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Mousse:

    • In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks and water until thick and lemony.
    • Blend in the melted chocolate until smooth.
    • In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream until it forms soft peaks. Add 2 tablespoons of icing sugar and continue beating until combined.
    • Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
    • In another bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in the remaining icing sugar until stiff peaks form.
    • Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Pie:

    • Once the pecan pie has chilled, spread the prepared chocolate mousse over the top.
    • Chill the pie until the mousse is set, approximately 4 hours.
  4. Serve:

    • Prior to serving, garnish with swirls of whipped cream, sprinkle on additional pecans, and add chocolate curls for extra indulgence.
    • For a final touch, adorn with maraschino cherries with stems to elevate the presentation of this decadent dessert.
