Serves: 8

A beautifully indulgent dessert, this Double Chocolate Bundt Cake brings together the rich flavors of both dark and white chocolate in every bite. With a moist, tender crumb, it’s perfect for any occasion where you want to impress with a little touch of decadence. The cake is flavored with vanilla bean and a hint of sweetness, making it a delightful treat for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
All-purpose flour (00 flour) 300g
Sugar 190g
Eggs 3
Vanilla bean (½ pod) 1/2 pod
Whole milk 100ml
Peanut oil (or vegetable oil) 100ml
Baking powder 16g
Dark chocolate 80g
White chocolate 80g

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dry ingredients: Start by sifting the all-purpose flour and baking powder together into a large mixing bowl to ensure there are no lumps. Set aside.

  2. Whisk the wet ingredients: In another bowl, crack the eggs and add the sugar. Split the vanilla bean pod in half, scrape out the seeds with a knife, and add them to the eggs and sugar. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until it becomes light, airy, and pale in color.

  3. Incorporate the liquids: Gradually add the milk, mixing continuously at low speed to incorporate it smoothly into the batter.

  4. Add the flour mixture: Slowly add the sifted flour and baking powder mixture in small batches, continuing to mix at a low speed. This ensures a smooth, lump-free batter.

  5. Prepare the cake pan: Grease and flour a 26cm Bundt cake pan. Once prepared, pour half of the cake batter into the pan.

  6. Add the chocolate chunks: Cut the dark chocolate and white chocolate into small cubes. Sprinkle half of each type of chocolate (40g dark chocolate and 40g white chocolate) evenly over the batter in the pan. Then, pour the remaining batter on top, covering the chocolate chunks.

  7. Top with more chocolate: Add the remaining dark and white chocolate (40g of each) on top of the batter.

  8. Bake the cake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the cake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If needed, adjust the baking time based on your oven, but be careful not to overbake.

  9. Cool and serve: Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Afterward, turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, transfer the cake to a serving plate.

This Double Chocolate Bundt Cake is best served with a light dusting of powdered sugar, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. The combination of dark and white chocolate creates a delicious contrast, making each slice a heavenly treat. Enjoy!
