Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Eggs 1
Water 3 tbsp
Light corn syrup 1/3 cup
Shortening 1 1/3 cups
Pecans 1/4 cup
Hershey’s chocolate bar 3/4 cup
Chocolate syrup 1 cup
Vanilla cake mix 1 box
Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
Milk chocolate bar (for glaze) 1

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare a 12-cup fluted pan by generously greasing and dusting it with cocoa powder (it works better than flour for chocolate cakes).

  3. Prepare the cake mix batter according to the package instructions, using oil, water, and eggs.

  4. Set aside 2 cups of the batter and stir in the corn syrup and chopped pecans.

  5. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the Hershey’s chocolate bar pieces and chocolate syrup. Microwave on high for about 1 minute or until smooth when stirred.

  6. Blend the melted chocolate mixture into the remaining plain batter until well incorporated.

  7. Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.

  8. Spoon the vanilla nut batter evenly over the chocolate batter in the pan.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  11. Prepare the glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate bar pieces and shortening. Microwave on high for about 45 seconds or until melted when stirred. Let it cool slightly.

  12. Glaze the cooled cake with the milk chocolate glaze, allowing it to drip down the sides.

  13. Serve and enjoy your delicious Hershey’s Bar Swirl Cake with a rich chocolate glaze that adds the perfect finishing touch to this decadent dessert!

Tips:

  • For a festive touch, decorate the top of the cake with chopped nuts or additional chocolate shavings.
  • Ensure the cake is completely cooled before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting too quickly.
  • Store any leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
