Ingredients:

  • 1 package (4 ounces) Baker’s German’s chocolate
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Chocolate Mixture:

    • In a small saucepan, melt the Baker’s German’s chocolate and 3 tablespoons of butter over very low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
    • Once melted, set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture:

    • In a mixing bowl, blend together the remaining butter and cream cheese until softened.
    • Gradually add 1/4 cup of sugar, beating well until creamy.
    • Mix in 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.

    • In another bowl, beat 2 eggs until thick and light in color.
    • Gradually add 3/4 cup of sugar, beating until thickened.

    • Blend in the cooled chocolate mixture, chopped nuts (if using), 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract until smooth.
