Recipe Yield:

1 11×15 pan (approximately 32 servings)

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
8 oz vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup eggs
1 cup water
4 cups walnuts
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 11×15-inch baking pan.

  2. Mix Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Then add the wet ingredients: vanilla, eggs, water, and milk. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Lastly, fold in the walnuts.

  3. Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  4. Make the Icing:
While the brownies are baking, prepare the icing. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, margarine, and milk. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, let it cook without stirring for 1½ to 2 minutes.

  5. Cool and Ice:
After removing the icing from heat, place the saucepan in a sink filled with cold water to cool it down quickly. Once cooled slightly, beat the icing well until it thickens. Spread the icing evenly over the cooled brownies.

  6. Serve:
Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting them into squares. Serve and enjoy the heavenly goodness of Mom Binney’s Brownies!

These brownies are perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings or sharing with a large group. Indulge in the rich, chocolaty flavor and savor the memories of homemade goodness.
