Tuna Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread (toasted or plain, as preferred)
  • 6 tablespoons canned tuna
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato, sliced
  • Mayonnaise, to taste
  • Thousand Island dressing, to taste (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper (or white pepper, if preferred)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Onion: In a pan, heat a little oil over medium heat and add the finely chopped onion. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

  2. Combine with Tuna: Add the canned tuna to the pan with the sautéed onions. Season with salt and black pepper, stirring well to combine. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.

  3. Prepare the Bread: Take the slices of bread and spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice.

  4. Assemble the Sandwich: On the mayonnaise-coated side of the first slice, layer a portion of the tuna mixture, followed by slices of tomato and fresh lettuce. Place another slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down, and repeat the layering process. Finish with a final slice of bread on top.

  5. Cut and Garnish: Carefully slice the sandwich in half diagonally. If desired, drizzle some Thousand Island dressing over the top for added flavor.

  6. Serve: Arrange the sandwiches on a plate, and enjoy your delicious tuna sandwich!
