Many moons ago, a relative in Natchez sent me a copy of a delightful cookbook titled Cook With A Natchez Native by Bethany Ewald Bultman. Although it contains only a few dozen recipes, many have become cherished family favorites over the years. This Bloody Mary recipe, adapted slightly to accommodate ingredient availability, is often the highlight of my brunches, perhaps even more than the food itself! Feel free to adjust the juice base according to your personal taste—whether you prefer all “regular” V-8, all “spicy,” or a custom blend that makes your tastebuds sing. I hope you agree that Dr. Barnes created a fantastic ‘prescription’ for this beloved cocktail!
