Instructions:
-
Prepare the Bread:
- Slice the loaf, leaving the crust intact, into slices. It is important not to slice through the bottom. Set aside.
-
Prepare the Butter Mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, dried basil, and dried oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Allow the butter mixture to sit on the counter for a while, so the flavors can travel all through the butter.
-
Assemble the Garlic Bread:
- Take a length of foil and place the loaf lengthwise on the foil.
- Very gently, spread the slices apart, being careful not to break the bottom, and spread them with the butter mixture.
- Once all slices are spread, use any leftover butter to spread the top of the loaf.
-
Bake the Garlic Bread:
- Wrap the sides of the foil up, leaving the top uncovered.
- Twist the ends of the foil to secure the loaf.
- Place the foil-wrapped loaf on a baking tray.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.
-
Serve and Enjoy:
- Garlic bread pairs perfectly with spaghetti or lasagna.
- If you’re baking lasagna, simply put the garlic bread in the oven with the lasagna for the last half hour of baking time.
Tips:
- For added flavor, you can sprinkle some extra grated Parmesan cheese on top of the buttered loaf before baking.
- Experiment with different herbs and spices in the butter mixture to customize the flavor to your liking.
- Make sure to spread the butter mixture evenly on each slice of bread for consistent flavor throughout.
