Nasi Tim Ayam Jamur Versi Rice Cooker: A Savory Indonesian Delight

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast, skinless, diced (amount as needed)
  • Shiitake mushrooms (increase quantity if preferred)
  • Garlic, finely chopped (to taste)
  • Onion, diced small
  • Sugar, salt, and pepper (to taste)
  • Mushroom stock (optional)
  • Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • Soy sauce (kecap asin)
  • Oyster sauce
  • Fish sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Cooking wine (optional)
  • Water (as needed, preferably a bit more)
  • Cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms:

    • Clean the shiitake mushrooms thoroughly and soak them until tender. For best results, soak them overnight. Once softened, slice them thinly.
  2. Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat a splash of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and diced onion. Sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Cook the Chicken and Mushrooms:

    • Add the diced chicken breast and sliced mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry until the chicken turns white and the mushrooms start to soften. Season with sugar, salt, pepper, and mushroom stock (if using). Adjust the seasoning according to taste.
