  • 4 crabs
  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • Cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crab Extract:

    • Clean the crabs, separating all the legs.
    • Grind the legs with 1 cup of water until you obtain a thick extract.
    • Strain the mixture to get a fine paste/juice consistency.
    • Repeat the process a couple of times, ensuring a smooth extract. Set aside.
  2. Cooking the Curry:

    • Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.

    • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until softened.
    • Toss in turmeric and red chili powders, stirring for 3-5 minutes.
    • Add the prepared paste and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until aromatic.
    • Once the mixture begins to simmer, add the crabs and pincers, ensuring they are submerged.
    • Pour in just enough water to cover the crabs.
    • Allow the curry to come to a boil, then add the crab extract.
    • Let it boil for a few minutes to infuse the flavors.
    • Add freshly ground coconut, stirring well, and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for a burst of freshness.
