Description:
This delightful Christmas Punch recipe has been a cherished tradition in our family for generations. Originally crafted by my beloved grandma, it’s a beverage that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the holidays. At our gatherings, Gramm would prepare two versions of this punch: one “spiked” for the adults and one “virgin” for us kids. Despite her best efforts, we always managed to sneak a taste of the spiked version, adding an extra dash of excitement to our festive celebrations. With its vibrant flavors and heartwarming memories, Gramm’s Christmas Punch is sure to become a highlight of your holiday gatherings too.

Instructions:
- In a large punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice, rum (if using), and maraschino cherry.
- Stir in HALF of the water required as directed on the label for each of the frozen juices. This typically amounts to about 2 3/4 cups of water.
- Allow the punch to chill in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together and develop.
- If desired, add Sprite or Club Soda just before serving to give the punch a refreshing carbonated fizz.
- To add an elegant touch, consider serving the punch with an ice ring floating on the top, just like Grammy always does.
Recipe Notes:
- For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum. The punch will still be deliciously flavorful and suitable for guests of all ages.
- Feel free to customize the punch to suit your taste preferences. You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less water, or even incorporate other fruit juices for a unique twist.
- To make an ice ring, fill a bundt pan or gelatin mold with water and freeze until solid. You can also add slices of citrus fruits or berries to the water for an extra decorative touch.
