Description:

Wonderful for Thanksgiving or Christmas to serve with your turkey! This is another one of my mother-in-law’s recipes that my husband must have for the holidays!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 apple

Instructions:

  1. Wash and Drain Cranberries: Start by thoroughly washing and draining the fresh cranberries. Ensure they are clean and free from any debris.

  2. Prepare the Orange: Wash the orange and quarter it. Make sure to remove any seeds from the quarters.

  3. Combine Ingredients: Place the washed cranberries and quartered orange into a food processor.

  4. Chop: Pulse the cranberries and orange in the food processor until they reach your desired consistency. Some people prefer a chunky relish, while others like it smoother. Adjust the processing time accordingly.

  5. Add Sugar: Once the cranberries and orange are chopped, add the sugar to the mixture. The sweetness will balance out the tartness of the cranberries and the citrus flavor of the orange.

  6. Refrigerate: Transfer the relish to a bowl or container with a lid and refrigerate it overnight. This step allows the flavors to meld together and intensify, resulting in a more delicious relish.

Serve this delightful Cranberry Orange Relish alongside your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey for a burst of flavor that complements the savory main dish perfectly! Enjoy the festive spirit with this easy, healthy, and flavorful addition to your holiday table.
