Title: Spicy Fried Salted Fish (Mercon Ikan Asin Bulu Ayam)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce salted bulu ayam fish (ikan asin bulu ayam)
  • 1 ounce red bird’s eye chili peppers (cabai rawit merah)
  • 5 shallots (bawang merah)
  • 2 cloves garlic (bawang putih)
  • A pinch of chicken seasoning (Royco ayam)
  • A pinch of salt (garam)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by washing the salted bulu ayam fish thoroughly. Drain it well and then fry until crisp. Set aside.

  2. Wash the shallots, garlic, and red bird’s eye chili peppers. Thinly slice them.

  3. Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the sliced shallots, garlic, and chili peppers until fragrant and golden brown.

  4. Add the fried salted fish to the pan. Season with chicken seasoning and a pinch of salt (be cautious with the salt as the fish is already salty).

  5. Stir well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed and absorbed by the fish. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

  6. Once everything is well combined and the flavors have melded together, turn off the heat.

  7. Serve the spicy fried salted fish with hot steamed rice for a satisfying meal.

Enjoy this flavorful and spicy dish, perfect for pairing with a bowl of warm rice!
