Instructions
To prepare this delightful Tandoori Salmon, begin by preparing the marinade. In a bowl, combine the tandoori paste and garlic paste. You can find tandoori paste at ethnic grocery stores, but if unavailable, you can substitute it with garam masala, which is more commonly found in supermarkets. Next, add the natural plain yogurt to the mixture, followed by freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add the curry powder and ground ginger to complete the marinade.
Now, set aside some of this prepared marinade to drizzle over the salmon before baking it. Transfer the remaining marinade into a baking dish, creating a flavorful base. Gently place the four salmon steaks (approximately 200g each) into the dish, ensuring they are fully coated with the marinade. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the salmon to marinate thoroughly.
Once the marinating time has passed, remove the dish from the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking tray and line it with parchment paper to ensure the salmon doesn’t stick. Arrange the marinated salmon steaks on the tray, and using a spatula, drizzle the reserved marinade over the top.
Place the salmon in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Serve the Tandoori Salmon hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a side of your choice, and enjoy this aromatic, flavorful dish!
