Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the dry yeast with sugar and warm milk or water. Set aside for 20 minutes to activate the yeast.

  2. In a large bowl, sift together the plain flour and salt.

  3. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of oil or melted butter, and the activated yeast mixture.

  4. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 3-4 hours, or until it doubles in size.

  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and knead it again to remove any air bubbles. Let it rest for another 30 minutes to allow it to rise again.

  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a round ball.

  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each dough ball into a round disc, approximately 6 inches in diameter. Place the discs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each one.

  8. Brush the tops of the naan with the remaining oil or melted butter. This will help them brown and develop a beautiful crust in the oven.

  9. Bake the naan in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown on top.

  10. Once they are baked, remove the naan from the oven and brush them lightly with more oil or melted butter, focusing on the sloping dark brown tops for added flavor and shine.

  11. Serve the Muslim Naan warm with your favorite curry, dip, or enjoy it on its own as a delicious snack or side dish.

Enjoy your homemade Muslim Naan! 🍞🌟
