Prep Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 8 snowmen
Description:
Theses are adorable! They are always a hit at the children’s school parties. They are the perfect size for the gingerbread houses made at school, with the small milk cartons!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 pound confectioners’ sugar
- Blue food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
- Red food coloring
- Sprinkles and candies for decoration
Instructions:
-
Prepare Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, corn syrup, peppermint extract, and salt. Gradually beat in the confectioners’ sugar until the mixture forms a ball.
-
Color Dough: Divide the dough into four equal parts. Place one part (about 1 tablespoon) of dough in a small bowl and add blue food coloring. Mix until the color is well blended. Repeat this process with yellow and red food coloring for the remaining three parts of the dough. Set aside the colored dough.
-
Shape Snowmen: Using the plain dough, make 16 balls in total. Eight balls should be about 1 tablespoon of dough each, and the other eight should be about 1/2 teaspoon of dough each. Stack the smaller balls on top of the larger ones to form eight snowmen.
-
Add Colorful Accessories: Use the colored dough to create hats, scarves, and earmuffs for the snowmen. Get creative with the designs!
-
Decorate: Add sprinkles and candies to give your snowmen faces. Use them for eyes, noses, buttons, and mouths.
-
Serve: Arrange your minty snowmen on a serving platter and watch them disappear at your next holiday gathering!
