Sautéed Broccoli
Category: Side Dishes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Broccoli 500g
Water 300g
Extra virgin olive oil 25g
Garlic clove 1
Fresh chili pepper 1
Fine salt To taste

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preparing the broccoli: remove the thick stalks, leaving only the florets for cooking.
  2. In a large skillet, add the broccoli florets and pour in the water. Cover the pan with a lid and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the water is boiling, uncover the pan and allow the broccoli to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt to taste as the water evaporates.
  4. To ensure the broccoli has reached the right tenderness, perform a quick fork test—if the fork goes through the florets easily, they’re done.
  5. Add the garlic clove, chopped into small pieces, along with the fresh chili pepper for a touch of heat.
  6. Drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil and toss the broccoli to combine all the flavors.
  7. Serve your sautéed broccoli immediately, hot or cold, as a perfect side dish to complement any meal.

Tips:

  • If you prefer your broccoli with a stronger kick, feel free to add more chili or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • This dish can also be enjoyed at room temperature or chilled as part of a refreshing salad.

Enjoy this simple yet flavorful sautéed broccoli, a perfect addition to any meal, whether it’s a quick weeknight dinner or a more elaborate gathering!
