Garlic Sauce Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1 can bamboo shoots
  • 1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 lb shrimp
  • 3/4 cup peanuts
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 lb pork
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cups green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Vegetables:

    • Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a boil.
    • Add 1-2 tbsp of lemon juice to the boiling water.
    • Drop in the water chestnuts and bamboo shoots.
    • Boil for a few minutes, then drain in a colander and rinse under cold water to cool.
    • Refrigerate until ready to use. This helps remove any tinny taste from canned vegetables.
  2. Cooking:

    • Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat.
    • Add 1 tbsp of canola oil to the wok.
    • Break up the pork and add it to the wok. Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, and seasoned salt to taste.
    • Stir fry for a couple of minutes until the pork starts to brown.
  3. Adding Shrimp:

    • Add the shrimp to the wok and stir fry for about 1 minute until they start to turn pink and become opaque.
