Ginseng Leaf and Tofu Stir-Fry Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch ginseng leaves, washed and picked
- 3 blocks tofu, cut into cubes
- 2 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by thoroughly washing the ginseng leaves and picking them off the stems. Next, prepare the tofu by cutting it into bite-sized cubes. Coarsely chop the garlic and thinly slice the shallot.
-
Fry the Tofu: Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Gently fry the tofu cubes just until they start to turn golden, ensuring they do not crumble. Remove from the pan and set aside.
-
Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed, and sauté the sliced shallots and chopped garlic until they release their fragrant aroma.
-
Simmer the Dish: Return the fried tofu to the pan with the shallots and garlic. Add approximately 1/2 cup of water and allow it to come to a boil.
-
Season and Finish: Once the mixture is boiling, season with salt and granulated sugar. Drizzle in the sesame oil and stir in the ginseng leaves. Cook briefly, just until the ginseng leaves start to wilt.
-
Serve: Transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish and enjoy as a nutritious and flavorful side dish or light main course.
This Ginseng Leaf and Tofu Stir-Fry combines the earthy flavors of ginseng with the savory richness of tofu, creating a harmonious and delightful dish that’s perfect for any meal.
