Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 baking apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

  2. Prepare Pastry: Begin by defrosting the puff pastry sheet according to the package instructions. Cover the sheet with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out while you work on the other ingredients.

  3. Prepare Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt. Mix well. Add the diced apples to the bowl and stir until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar and spice mixture.

  4. Cut Pastry: Cut the thawed puff pastry into 8 squares.

  5. Assemble Pockets: Take 4 of the pastry squares and place a portion of the apple mixture onto each square. Be sure to leave some space around the edges.

  6. Add Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the apples in each pastry square.

  7. Seal Pockets: Place the remaining pastry squares on top of the apple-filled ones. Press the edges together firmly to seal, and use a fork to crimp the edges. You may use a little water to help seal the edges if necessary.

  8. Brush with Egg: Using a pastry brush, gently brush the top of each pastry pocket with the beaten egg. This will give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

  9. Bake: Place the assembled apple pockets onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up and golden brown.

  10. Serve: Once baked, remove the apple pockets from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. These are delicious on their own or served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!

Enjoy these delightful apple pockets as a tasty dessert or sweet snack any time of the day! 🍏πŸ₯Ÿ
