Easy Dinner Rolls Recipe

🕒 Cook Time: 17 minutes
🕒 Prep Time: 15 minutes
🕒 Total Time: 32 minutes
🥖 Yield: 24 rolls

Description:

Even the beginner cook can make these. And they’re true home-made rolls. They must chill for 2 hours, or you can make them up to 3 days in advance.

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Combine water and yeast in a large bowl; let it stand for 5 minutes until the yeast activates.

  2. Stir in butter, sugar, eggs, and salt using a wooden spoon until well combined.

  3. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, beating in as much as you can until a dough forms. You will likely use all the flour.

  4. Cover the dough and refrigerate it for at least 2 hours, or up to 3 days, allowing it to rise slowly and develop flavor.

  5. Grease a 13×9 baking pan to prevent the rolls from sticking during baking.

  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and divide it into 24 equal pieces.

  7. Roll each piece into a smooth round ball by gently shaping them with your hands.

  8. Arrange the rolls in rows in the prepared pan, leaving some space between each roll for rising.

  9. Cover the pan with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), ensuring it’s fully heated before baking.

  11. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until they turn golden brown, typically about 17 minutes.

  12. Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

These easy dinner rolls are perfect for any occasion, from weeknight dinners to special holiday meals. Enjoy their fluffy texture and homemade taste with your favorite spreads or alongside your favorite dishes.
