Instructions:
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | In a large Dutch oven, combine chicken breasts, celery, carrot, onion, peppercorns, and 1 tablespoon of seasoned salt. Add about 4 quarts of water, enough to cover the ingredients. Simmer over medium heat until the chicken begins to fall apart, typically about 30-40 minutes. |
2 | Remove the chicken from the pot and set it aside to cool. Be sure to reserve the broth; do not discard it. |
3 | Once the chicken has cooled, remove the skin and bones, discarding them, and shred the meat into bite-sized pieces. Set the shredded chicken aside. |
4 | Strain the vegetables from the broth, pressing as much of the liquid from them as possible back into the pot. Discard the vegetables. |
5 | Bring the broth to a boil over high heat. |
6 | Add the noodles to the boiling broth and cook for approximately 6 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of tenderness. |
7 | Reduce the heat to low and add the chicken bouillon cubes, stirring to ensure they dissolve completely. |
8 | Stir in the undiluted chicken soup, being careful not to break the noodles too much. |
9 | Add the shredded chicken, minced onion, dried parsley, and remaining seasonings to taste. Stir gently to combine. |
10 | Allow the soup to simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. |
11 | Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, if desired. Enjoy with hot buttered cornbread for a comforting and satisfying meal. |
This recipe yields a hearty and delicious chicken noodle soup that’s perfect for chilly days or whenever you need a comforting meal. Whether you’re serving it to family or friends, it’s sure to be a hit!
