One half hour before the standing rib roast is done, prepare Yorkshire pudding batter. Mix all ingredients with a hand mixer just until smooth.

Heat a 9×9″ pan in the oven with the roast.

Remove the roast from the oven; spoon off drippings and add melted shortening to measure 1/2 cup.
