Description:

Indulge in the delightful aroma and flavors of homemade Besan Ladoos. This traditional Indian sweet is a perfect treat for any occasion. Made with gram flour, sugar, ghee, and a touch of cardamom powder, these ladoos are sure to satisfy your sweet cravings. Share them with family and friends or enjoy them as a special treat just for yourself!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups gram flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups ghee
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Start by gathering all the ingredients required for making Besan Ladoos. Ensure that the gram flour, sugar, ghee, milk, cashews, and cardamom powder are ready.

  2. Mix Gram Flour: In a mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, milk, and 1/4 cup of ghee. Use your fingers to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

  3. Rest the Mixture: Cover the mixing bowl and set it aside for about half an hour to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to rest.

  4. Prepare Nuts: While the gram flour mixture is resting, chop the cashews into fine pieces or break them into smaller bits, whichever you prefer.

  5. Heat Ghee: In a wok or large skillet, heat the remaining ghee over medium heat until it melts and becomes hot.

  6. Fry Gram Flour: After 30 minutes of resting time, add the gram flour mixture to the hot ghee in the wok. Fry the gram flour in the ghee for 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure even cooking.

  7. Break and Stir: As the gram flour cooks, it will form lumps. Break these lumps into smaller pieces using a spoon or spatula. Continue stirring continuously to prevent burning and ensure even frying.

  8. Add Sugar and Nuts: Once the gram flour is golden brown and aromatic, add the sugar, chopped cashews, and cardamom powder to the mixture. Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients evenly.

  9. Turn Off Heat: Once the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is well combined, switch off the flame. The heat from the mixture will continue to cook it slightly even after the flame is turned off.

  10. Cool Mixture: Transfer the mixture to a large plate or tray and spread it out evenly. This will help it cool down faster and make it easier to handle.

  11. Shape into Ladoos: After about 10 minutes, when the mixture is still warm but has cooled down slightly, start shaping it into small, even-sized balls or ladoos using your hands. Press firmly to ensure they hold their shape.

  12. Store: Once all the ladoos are shaped, store them in an airtight container to maintain their freshness and flavor. They can be stored at room temperature for up to a week.

  13. Serve and Enjoy: Besan Ladoos are now ready to be served and enjoyed! Serve them as a delicious dessert or snack, or pack them up to give as homemade gifts to friends and family.
