Easy Garlic Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Onion
3 Garlic cloves
1 cup Long grain rice
2 cups Chicken broth
1/2 tsp Dried thyme
1 Bay leaf
1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Saute Onions & Garlic:

    • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add finely chopped onion and minced garlic cloves.
    • Saute until they turn golden and fragrant.
  2. Cook Rice:

    • Stir in 1 cup of long grain rice, ensuring it gets coated with the oil.
    • Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth.
    • Add 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme and 1 bay leaf for flavor.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer:

    • Cover the skillet with a lid and let it simmer gently for about 25 minutes.
    • Occasionally stir the rice after 15 minutes to ensure even cooking.
    • Continue simmering until the liquid is fully absorbed and the rice is tender.
  4. Finish & Serve:

    • Remove the bay leaf from the rice.
    • Stir in 1/4 cup of freshly chopped parsley for a burst of freshness.
    • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
