Ingredients:
- 1 packet spaghetti
- Salt (to taste)
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 fresh chili pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
Step 1: Boil Spaghetti
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
- Add a generous amount of salt to the boiling water.
- Carefully add the spaghetti to the pot and cook according to the package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, or until al dente.
- Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it immediately and transfer it to a large serving bowl.
Step 2: Prepare Garlic Infused Olive Oil
- While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté it gently in the olive oil until it turns golden brown and becomes fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Be careful not to let the garlic burn, as it can become bitter.
- Once the garlic is golden brown, add the sliced chili pepper to the skillet and continue to cook for another minute, allowing the flavors to infuse into the oil.
Step 3: Combine Spaghetti and Infused Oil
- Remove the skillet from the heat and carefully remove the slices of chili pepper from the oil, if desired, to control the level of spiciness.
- Immediately pour the sizzling hot oil over the cooked spaghetti in the serving bowl.
- Add the chopped fresh parsley to the bowl as well.
- Using tongs or a pasta fork, toss the spaghetti gently to coat it evenly with the garlic-infused olive oil and parsley.
- Ensure that all the spaghetti strands are well-coated with the flavorful oil.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
- Once the spaghetti is evenly coated with the oil and parsley, divide it among individual serving plates or bowls.
- Garnish with additional chopped parsley, if desired, for a pop of color and freshness.
- Serve hot and enjoy this classic Italian dish bursting with flavors of garlic, spicy chili, and fragrant olive oil.
- Pair it with a glass of your favorite wine and some crusty bread for a complete and satisfying meal.
Tips and Variations:
- Spice Level: Adjust the amount of chili pepper according to your preference for spice. You can add more or less depending on how spicy you like your pasta.
- Extra Flavor: For an extra burst of flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the spaghetti just before serving.
- Garnish: Experiment with different garnishes such as grated Parmesan cheese or toasted breadcrumbs for added texture and flavor.
- Protein Boost: Add cooked shrimp, grilled chicken, or crispy bacon to make this dish even heartier and more satisfying.
- Vegetarian Option: This dish is naturally vegetarian, but you can also make it vegan-friendly by omitting the cheese and ensuring all ingredients are plant-based.
