Multi-Grain Honey Wheat Bread ๐Ÿž

Description:

This Multi-Grain Honey Wheat Bread recipe is a delightful blend of wholesome grains and sweet honey, creating a loaf that’s both nutritious and delicious. It’s a “partial” bread machine recipe, starting in the machine and finishing in your oven. Alternatively, you can use a traditional mixer with a dough hook if you prefer. Perfect for cozy winter nights or busy weeknights when you crave the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup gluten
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup Bulgar wheat
  • 1/4 cup flax seed
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons flax seed (extra for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons oats (extra for topping)
  • 3 tablespoons wheat germ (extra for topping)

Instructions:

Step Description
1. Place ingredients into the bread machine in the appropriate order.
2. Set the machine to “manual” to knead the dough thoroughly.
3. After the manual bread machine cycle, remove the machine hook from the dough, and transfer the dough into a greased loaf pan, gently punching it down.
4. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
5. While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
6. Keeping the dough in the same pan in which it rose, brush the surface with a beaten egg and sprinkle with extra flax seed, oats, and/or wheat germ for added texture and flavor (optional). Allow the dough to rise again for about 10 minutes.
7. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until it is nicely browned and sounds hollow when tapped.
8. Remove the pan from the oven, and carefully turn the bread out of the pan to cool on a wire rack.
