Ingredients:
- 1/2 onion
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup Uncle Ben’s converted brand rice
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup mushroom pieces
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Saute Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
-
Dissolve Bouillon Cubes: In a separate bowl, dissolve the chicken and beef bouillon cubes in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
-
Combine Ingredients: In a 1 1/2-quart baking dish, combine the sautéed onions (with the butter), dissolved bouillon mixture, rice, mushroom pieces, and season generously with salt and pepper.
-
Bake: Place the baking dish, uncovered, in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 1 hour, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid, and the top is golden brown.
-
Serve: Once baked to perfection, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This Baked Rice dish pairs wonderfully with a variety of mains and makes for a delightful addition to any meal.
