Instructions:

Prepare Ingredients:
- Rinse the channa dal (lentils) thoroughly and soak them in water for about 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Finely chop the onions, tomatoes, garlic cloves, green chilies, and fresh ginger.

Cooking:
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker or pot over medium flame.

Tempering:
- Once the oil is hot, reduce the flame to low and add cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle.

Saute Aromatics:
- Add the chopped ginger, garlic, onion, and green chilies to the pot. Mix well and sauté until the onions are softened and the raw smell of ginger and garlic disappears.
