Instructions:

Firstly, clean, wash, and soak the red kidney beans and urad dal in sufficient water for a minimum of 6 hours.

Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic cloves.

Wash, remove the stems, and finely chop the green chilies.

Next, wash and finely chop the tomatoes.

Similarly, finely chop the coriander leaves.

Drain the soaked dals and add them to a pressure cooker along with 6 cups of water. Pressure-cook for 30 minutes or until the dals are completely cooked.

Once cooked, mix the dals well using a round ladle.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped garlic and stir-fry briefly until golden brown.

Add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté for 4-5 minutes or until the onions turn golden-brown in color.

Stir in the red chili powder and cumin powder, and stir-fry briefly.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously.

Now, stir in the cooked dals and butter. Mix well.

Add salt, chopped coriander leaves, and cook the dal for an additional 10 minutes on low flame, stirring continuously.
