Green Tea Coconut Ladoo Recipe – Coconut Energy Balls

Description:
This Green Tea & Coconut Ladoo is a healthy and delicious energy ball made with fresh coconut and powdered Tetley Long Leaf Green Tea. The ladoos are flavored with aromatic cardamom and enriched with condensed milk, making them a perfect, wholesome treat for any occasion.

Cuisine: Indian
Course: Dessert

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Fresh coconut, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 4 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds, powdered in a mortar-pestle
  • 1/2 cup Condensed Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Tetley Long Leaf Green Tea, powdered
  • 1/4 cup Dessicated Coconut, for outer cover

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preparing all your ingredients and setting them aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a wide pan. Add the fresh coconut and roast for about 5 minutes until it gives off a roasted aroma. Be careful not to brown the coconut while roasting.
  3. Once the coconut is roasted, add the powdered Tetley Green Tea, cardamom powder, and condensed milk. Cook on low to medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture begins to thicken and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This will take around 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. If the mixture doesn’t seem to thicken enough or doesn’t leave the sides of the pan, you can add a little oats flour to help thicken it. Oats flour works well as a binding agent without affecting the flavor of the ladoos.
  5. Once the mixture thickens and separates from the sides of the pan, turn off the heat and transfer it to a flat plate to cool.
  6. When the mixture is cool enough to handle, roll it into round balls (ladoos).
  7. Roll the ladoos in dessicated coconut to coat them for a snowy finish.
  8. Store the ladoos in the refrigerator for up to a week.

These Green Tea Coconut Ladoos make an excellent festive treat for occasions like Diwali, and are perfect when served alongside evening Masala Chai or Filter Coffee. Your friends and family will surely enjoy this delicious, energy-boosting dessert!
