Soy Sauce Chicken with Steamed Vegetables

Soy sauce 150g (50g + 100ml)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    Start by removing the central bone and any excess fat from the chicken breast. Then, slice the chicken into thin fillets. Grate the zest of the orange and squeeze out the juice. In a mixing bowl, combine the orange juice, grated zest, extra virgin olive oil, and the orange zest. Add a pinch of sweet paprika, marjoram, and a few cracked black peppercorns. Toss the chicken fillets in this marinade and set aside for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Steam the Vegetables:
    While the chicken is marinating, prepare the vegetables for steaming. Cut off the tough core and outer leaves of the cauliflower. When the water in your steamer pot is boiling, place the steamer basket on top. Add the cauliflower florets and baby carrots to the basket. Cover and steam for about 7-8 minutes. After this time, add the snap peas to the basket and continue steaming for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender yet crisp. Lightly season with salt.

    In a small saucepan, combine 100ml of soy sauce with the honey and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow the sauce to cook down slightly, creating a syrupy consistency. Remove from the heat and set aside.

  4. Grill the Chicken:
    Once the chicken has marinated, remove it from the marinade. Heat a cast iron grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side, ensuring the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
