Ideal for a light lunch or a quick weeknight dinner, this grilled tuna is paired with a medley of fresh greens and vegetables, topped with a tangy sauce to enhance the flavors.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Amount
Tuna steaks 2 medium portions
Lettuce leaves A few fresh leaves
Green beans 3 stalks, trimmed
Carrot 1, sliced
Bean sprouts (toge) A handful
Mayonnaise 2 tablespoons
Black pepper (ground) To taste
Sauce (your choice) To taste
Onion (shallot) 1, thinly sliced
Margarine or butter For greasing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tuna:

    • Rinse the tuna steaks under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
    • Heat a small amount of margarine in a non-stick skillet or griddle pan (teflon) over medium heat.
    • Add thinly sliced onion to the pan, sautéing until fragrant and slightly golden.
    • Gently place the tuna steaks in the pan, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side. You can lightly crush the tuna with a spatula while it cooks to ensure an even sear on both sides.
  2. Cook the Vegetables:

    • While the tuna is grilling, slice the carrot and trim the green beans.
    • Bring a pot of water to a boil, and blanch the carrot slices and green beans until they are just tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Salad Mix:

    • In a separate bowl, soak the lettuce leaves and bean sprouts (toge) in water with a pinch of salt for 2 minutes to freshen them up.
    • Drain the vegetables and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  4. Assembly:

    • On a serving plate, layer the lettuce, bean sprouts, carrot, and green beans.
    • Place the grilled tuna steaks on top of the vegetables.
    • Drizzle with your favorite sauce, season with black pepper to taste, and finish with a generous spoonful of mayonnaise.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve immediately while the tuna is still warm, and enjoy this healthy and delicious grilled tuna dish!

This recipe is a wonderful way to enjoy a light and satisfying meal with a blend of fresh ingredients and a touch of seasoning. Perfect for anyone who loves quick, nutritious dishes without compromising on flavor.
