The combination of spices and grilled chicken, paired with the subtle crunch of pickled onions, makes this recipe a delightful snack or light meal option.

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Whole Wheat Tawa Paratha 2 pieces
Onion 1, sliced
Lahsun Ki Chutney (Red Garlic Chutney) 2 tablespoons
Chicken Breasts 300 grams, cut into small pieces
Red Chilli Powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric Powder (Haldi) 1/2 teaspoon
Garam Masala Powder 2 teaspoons
Amchur (Dry Mango Powder) 1 teaspoon
Cumin Powder (Jeera) 1 teaspoon
Curd (Dahi/Yogurt) 1/4 cup
Salt To taste
Fresh Coriander (Dhania) Leaves 1 cup
Fresh Mint Leaves (Pudina) 1 cup
Green Chilli 1, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

To begin, thoroughly wash and clean the chicken breasts, cutting them into 1-inch cubes. Set them aside for marination.

Step 2: Make the Hariyali Tikka Marinade

In a blender, combine fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves, and a green chilli. Grind everything together into a smooth paste. Transfer this paste to a mixing bowl. Add the following ingredients to the bowl:

  • Curd (yogurt)
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garam masala powder
  • Amchur powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Salt

Mix well to combine all the spices and ingredients thoroughly. Add the chicken pieces into the marinade and toss well to ensure the chicken is coated evenly with the mixture. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator to absorb all the flavors.

Step 3: Grill the Chicken

Heat a grill pan over medium heat and lightly drizzle with oil. Once hot, place the marinated chicken pieces on the pan. Grill the chicken evenly on both sides until it is fully cooked and has a slightly charred, roasted look. This process should take around 10 minutes, depending on the size of your chicken pieces. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

Step 4: Prepare the Paratha

While the chicken is grilling, prepare your Tawa Paratha. If you’d like a healthier option, consider substituting with Ragi Tawa Paratha or a spiced-up version like Pudina Tawa Paratha.

Step 5: Assemble the Wrap

Once the chicken is grilled and the paratha is ready, spread a generous layer of Lahsun Ki Chutney (red garlic chutney) on the surface of each paratha. Add a few slices of pickled onions to the chutney layer. Then, place the grilled chicken pieces on one side of the paratha.

Carefully roll up the paratha tightly to enclose the filling. You can wrap it in foil to keep everything secure and easy to hold.

Step 6: Serve

Your Hariyali Chicken Tikka Wrap is now ready! Serve this delicious wrap with a refreshing side drink such as Mulled Apple Juice or a Chickoo Banana Date Smoothie for a complete snack experience.

Tips for the Perfect Hariyali Chicken Tikka Wrap:

  • For added flavor, you can add some sliced tomatoes and lettuce to the wrap for a crunch and freshness.
  • If you don’t have a grill pan, you can also use a regular frying pan to cook the chicken.
  • You can adjust the level of heat in the wrap by adding more or less green chilli to the marinade or chutney.
  • Experiment with different chutneys to give the wrap a unique twist, like a tangy tamarind chutney.

Enjoy this delightful wrap as a satisfying snack or a light meal. The combination of aromatic spices and smoky grilled chicken, paired with the tangy chutney and the freshness of herbs, makes this recipe a true treat for the taste buds!
