Description:
These Mexican Low Fat Fish Wraps are a delicious, healthy snack perfect for any time of the day. Prepared with basa fish fillets, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamin D, these wraps are both tasty and nutritious. The fish is grilled to preserve its nutritional value, though you can shallow fry the marinated fillets if you prefer. The wraps are complemented with a tangy yogurt sauce and a fresh tomato-onion salsa. The mild spices, including black pepper and green chili, add flavor without overpowering the dish. These wraps are a great option for both adults and kids, offering a balanced and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Whole Wheat Flour Tortilla
  • 200g Basa fish, boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 Iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Oil (for marination)
  • 2 tablespoons Black pepper powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (for marination)
    For the Salsa:
  • 1 Tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander (Dhania) Leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • A pinch of Salt
    For the Dressing:
  • 1/2 cup Hung Curd (Greek Yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Fish:

    • In a bowl, combine the basa fish cubes with black pepper powder, salt, and lemon juice. Set aside for 30 minutes to marinate.
  2. Prepare the Salsa:

    • In a separate mixing bowl, combine chopped tomato, onion, coriander leaves, green chili, olive oil, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Make the Yogurt Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix hung curd (Greek yogurt) with Italian seasoning to create the dressing. Set aside.
  4. Grill the Fish:

    • Preheat the oven for 5 minutes at 200°C (392°F).
    • Thread the marinated fish onto skewers and brush with a little oil. Grill for 20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  5. Assemble the Wraps:

    • Heat the tortilla for a few seconds to make it soft.
    • Place the tortilla on a plate, then spread iceberg lettuce in the center.
    • Top with 2 tablespoons of the prepared salsa.
    • Add the grilled fish pieces on top of the salsa.
    • Spread 2 tablespoons of yogurt sauce over the fish.
    • Roll the tortilla by folding the opposite sides together to form a wrap. If the wrap is too large, cut it in half for easy serving.
  6. Serve:

    • Serve your Mexican Low Fat Fish Wraps with extra salsa and yogurt sauce on the side. For a complete meal, pair the wraps with Spicy Mexican Salsa Verde and a refreshing Pomegranate Mint Cocktail.

Enjoy these light and flavorful fish wraps as a perfect lunch or dinner option!
