Recipe Instructions:

Saute Meats: In a large soup kettle, sauté the ground beef, sweet Italian sausage link, onion, and garlic until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.

Add Ingredients: To the kettle, add the Italian-style tomatoes, beef broth, tomato juice, salt, dried basil, dried oregano, bay leaf, and fresh pepper. Stir well to combine.

Simmer: Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add Peas and Olives: After 60 minutes, add the sliced ripe olives and peas to the soup. Cook, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes.

Finish and Serve: Remove the bay leaf from the soup. Serve the thick spaghetti soup hot, garnished with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on each serving.
