Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup water
1 ¼ cups eggs (about 3 large eggs)
1/3 cup Philadelphia Cream Cheese
3 tablespoons margarine
1 cup confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two round 8 or 9-inch cake pans by lining them with greased aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake ingredients—water, eggs, cream cheese, margarine, and confectioners’ sugar—and whisk until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans, ensuring they are filled to an equal level for uniform baking.
  4. Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before turning them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. While the cakes are cooling, prepare the frosting by combining the frosting ingredients in a mixing bowl and beating with a hand mixer until the mixture is fluffy and creamy.
  7. When the cake layers have completely cooled, frost the top of the bottom layer with a generous amount of the cream cheese frosting.
  8. Carefully place the second layer on top of the frosted layer, and finish by frosting the top and sides of the entire cake for a beautifully decorated finish.

Enjoy this chocolatey delight with friends and family, making every occasion a little sweeter with each slice!
