Back in the 80’s, my dear friend welcomed her first bundle of joy and graciously invited me over to celebrate with a batch of these delightful Holiday Snickerdoodles. It was my inaugural encounter with the magical taste of snickerdoodles, and oh, what a revelation it was! The very next day, still enchanted by their flavor, I hurriedly dialed her number to procure the recipe, and ever since that momentous day, these cookies have become a cherished tradition in my household. I’ve found that doubling the recipe is essential because, in my abode, these delectable treats disappear within mere hours!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • For Coating:
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Cream Together:
    In a mixing bowl, combine the crisco, butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Cream them together until smooth and fluffy.
