Ragi or Finger Millet Powder/Malt for Babies (6 Months & Above)

Description: This nutritious Ragi malt/powder is an ideal beginner food for babies and toddlers. Ragi (finger millet) is packed with iron, protein, and calcium, promoting strong bones and healthy growth. It is gluten-free, low in fat, and easy for young bodies to digest and absorb. Perfect for weaning babies over 6 months, Ragi porridge is a wholesome first food to introduce to your little one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sprouted Ragi

Prep Time: 840 minutes (includes sprouting time)
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Sprout the Ragi Seeds: Begin by sprouting the Ragi seeds. This step takes about 12-14 hours.
  2. Dry the Sprouted Ragi: Once the sprouting is complete, spread the Ragi on a plate and let it dry in the shade for 4-5 hours.
  3. Roast the Ragi: Heat a pan on low flame and roast the dried Ragi for about 5 minutes. This enhances its nutritional value.
  4. Cool and Grind: Allow the roasted Ragi to cool down. Then, grind it into a fine powder using a mixer grinder.
  5. Sift the Powder: Pass the ground powder through a sieve to remove any coarse particles.
  6. Storage: Store the fine Ragi powder in an airtight container. It can be used for up to 3 months.
