Tangerine Jam Recipe

Category: Jams and Preserves
Serves/Pieces: 1 jar

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Tangerines 1 kg
Sugar 400 g

Instructions:

To prepare your homemade tangerine jam, start by sterilizing the jars and lids. Follow the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health for safe jar sterilization, which can be found at the end of this recipe. While the jars are boiling, begin prepping the tangerines by rinsing them under cold running water.

Next, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once itโ€™s boiling, add the tangerines and blanch them for about 5-6 minutes. Afterward, carefully drain the tangerines. Use a sharp knife to remove any seeds, then divide the fruit into wedges and transfer them into a blender.

Pour the blended tangerine mixture into a large saucepan, and add the sugar. Turn the heat to low and stir gently to combine. Once the mixture reaches the right temperature, turn off the heat and use an immersion blender to further blend the jam until it reaches a smooth, slightly chunky consistencyโ€”be careful not to fill the blender too full to avoid spills.

Finally, fill your sterilized jars with the hot tangerine jam and seal them tightly. Allow the jars to cool completely at room temperature. Store in a cool, dark place and enjoy your fresh homemade tangerine jam!

Tip: To ensure the proper sealing of your jars, check for any air bubbles and make sure the lids are securely fastened.
